The 1936 United States presidential election in Oregon took place on November 3, 1936, as part of the 1936 United States presidential election. Oregon voters chose five representatives, or electors, to the Electoral College, who voted for president and vice president.

Before the election, the main emphasis was made on the strength development in water-rich and mountainous Pacific Northwest, especially in the construction of large Federal dams if the electricity tariffs for all consumers should be the same. The Republican party strongly supports private utilities, while Democrats generally support at least some degree of public ownership and control in the electric power industry.

Oregon was virtually one-party Republican state outside several presidential and gubernatorial elections during" the system of 1896,” but in 1932 under the impact of the great Depression, Roosevelt was the first Democrat since 1868, to win the majority of the States vote.
