ⓘ Centronuclear myopathy

Centronuclear myopathies are a group of congenital myopathies where cell nuclei are abnormally located in the center of skeletal muscle cells instead of their normal location at the periphery.

SNM symptoms include severe hypotension, or hypoxia that requires breathing assistance, and scaphocephaly. Among centronuclear myopathy with X-linked myotubular myopathy form typically presents at birth, and is thus, congenital myopathy. However, some centronuclear myopathy may present later in life.
