The 2016 United States presidential election in Pennsylvania took place on November 8, 2016, as part of the 2016 United States elections in which all 50 states and the District of Columbia participated. Pennsylvania voters chose electors to represent them in the Electoral College via a popular vote.

On 26 April 2016, in the presidential primaries, voters chose the democratic, Republican and green parties candidates for President. PA closed its original condition, meaning the votes must be registered with a particular political party in order to vote for party candidates, to participate in their partys primary.

The Republican partys candidate was businessman and former leading student of the American reality program, Donald trump, who won the Pennsylvania 44.292 votes of more than 6.000 cast, a difference of 0.72% and a slight margin in the presidential election for the state in the 176 years since 1840, when William Henry Harrison defeated Martin van Buren by only 0.12%.

Before the election in Pennsylvania is expected to be close as the survey showed results within the margin of error. However, the majority of experts considered Pennsylvania as solidly Clinton. On election day, Pennsylvania swung to Donald trump. Trump was carrying 56 of the States 67 counties, rural and semi-rural districts, while Clinton had fulfilled a large part of the Philadelphia Metropolitan and other cities, including Pittsburgh, harrisburg and Scranton. However, in some parts of the traditional democratic forces, such as district Lucerne, where Wilkes-Barre is located, saw fluctuations in the range of 25% to Donald trump, making him the first Republican presidential candidate to carry Pennsylvania since George H. W. Bush in 1988. 2016 will also be the first presidential election, in which Pennsylvania voted for the law of the country since 1948. Pennsylvanias vote for Donald trump marked the fall of the Democratic blue wall, block more than 240 electoral votes, which voted democratic from 1992 to 2012.

Pennsylvania was one of eleven States to vote twice for bill Clinton in 1992 and 1996 and Hillary Clinton lose in 2016.
