The Greenbrier River Trail, is a linear state park comprising a 77.1-mile trail between North Caldwell and Cass in eastern West Virginia.

Route BRT and its contours were originally designed by the Chesapeake and Ohio railroad, serving as a passenger and freight line, before becoming non-viable after the great Depression. The correct path was given to the state of West Virginia in the late 1970-ies and a former railbed opened in 1980 as a multipurpose recreational trail.

Wheelchair-accessible Trail features a compacted crushed-limestone surface kind, Hiking, Cycling, skiing and horse riding. Access is granted on the 14 trails. The route includes 16 primitive campsites range from three sides shelter camping and 50 to 60 picnic tables along its length and runs adjacent to three parks and two state forests. As it follows the Greenbrier river trail falls 732 feet 223 m from North to South along its route, crossing 35 bridges and the intersection of the two tunnels - droop mountain tunnel with a length of 409 feet 125 m and sharps tunnel with a length of 500 ft 150 m.

In 1999, GRT was one of the 50 routes in the United States designated heritage trail, formulated in the Millennium Declaration. In 2012 the route was elected to the National railroad Hall of fame and was named Backpacker Magazine as "one of the 10 best Hiking trails in the United States."
