The Bridges Organization

The Bridges Organization is an organization that was founded in Kansas, United States, in 1998 with the goal of promoting interdisciplinary work in mathematics and art. The Bridges Conference is an annual conference on connections between art and mathematics. The conference features papers, educational workshops, an art exhibition, a mathematical poetry reading, and a short movie festival.

European Society for Mathematics and the Arts

European Society for Mathematics and the Arts is a European society to promoting mathematics and the arts. The first Conference of ESMA, took place in July 2010 at the Institute Henri Poincare in Paris.

Fractal expressionism

The term fractal expressionism was coined by physicist-artist Richard Taylor and co-authors to distinguish fractal art generated directly by artists from fractal art generated using mathematics and/or computers. Fractals are patterns that repeat at increasingly fine scales and are prevalent in natural scenery. Fractal expressionism implies a direct expression of natures patterns in an art work.
