The 1960 United States presidential election in Virginia took place on November 8, 1960. Voters chose 12 representatives, or electors to the Electoral College, who voted for president and vice president.

Virginia voted for the Republican candidate, the current Vice-President Richard Nixon, over the democratic candidate, Senator John F. Kennedy. Kennedy ultimately won the national elections with 49.72% of the vote.

Despite the defeat to Kennedy in the presidential election of 2016, this is the last time County Appomattox County Campbell, Lunenburg County, Mecklenburg County and Pittsylvania County have voted for the presidential candidate of the Democratic party.
