ⓘ Cochylis dubitana

Cochylis dubitana, the little conch, is a moth of the family Tortricidae. It is found in China and most of Europe. It is also found in North America, where it has been recorded from Colorado, Maine, Ontario and Washington.

Wingspan 11-16 mm. There are two generations per year with adults on wing in June and again in August.

Larvae feed inside flowers and developing seedheads of various Compositae species, including Senecio, Crepis and hieracium field and sow Thistle and goldenrod common. Larvae can be found in July and from August to April. They overwinter in a cocoon among debris. Pupation occurs from April to July in a cocoon on the ground among the wreckage.
