The 1896 United States presidential election in Montana took place on November 3, 1896. Voters chose three representatives, or electors to the Electoral College, who voted for president and vice president.

Montana overwhelmingly vote for Democrats, former U.S. representative from Nebraska, William Jennings Bryan for the Republican candidate, former Governor of Ohio William McKinley. Bryan won Montana by a landslide margin of 60.22 percent.

Br support many populist goals, as a result, he was nominated by the Democratic party and peoples party-populists, although with different assistants. One electoral vote from Montana was cast on populist Bryan-Watson ticket with Thomas E.
