The United States Senate election of 1946 in Connecticut was held on November 5, 1946.

In previous elections, Francis T. Maloney was re-elected, however, Maloney died on 16 January 1945. Former Admiral Thomas HART was appointed in his place as Senator HART not to run for election.

E. the candidate of the Republican party of the United States Raymond Baldwin, the acting Governor of the state, defeated his main rival, the candidate from Democratic party Joseph M. tone, who was the assistant Secretary of labor under President Franklin Roosevelt.

Senator HART resigned November 5, 1946, and Baldwin took place on 27 December 1946. Senator Baldwin resigned in 1949 to become a judge of the Supreme Court of Connecticuts errors.
