ⓘ Juan Garcia Ducos

Juan Garcia Ducos was a Puerto Rican politician and senator.

Garcia Ducos was a member of the Chamber of Puerto Rican delegates in the early 1900s.

In 1917, Garcia Ducos was elected a member of the first Puerto Rican Senate established by law the Jones-Shafroth. He represented district III in Aguadilla.

Garcia Ducos was re-elected in 1920 General election. Then, like most of his fellow party members, he joined the democracy Alliance, a joint political enterprise with the Republican party. He was again re-elected in the General election of 1924.

Garcia Ducos was strongly against the death penalty, and several times attempted to cancel it during its term.

There is a project for the construction of housing in Trujillo Alto, which has its name.
