The 1996 United States presidential election in West Virginia took place on November 5, 1996, as part of the 1996 United States presidential election. Voters chose 4 representatives, or electors to the Electoral College, who voted for president and vice president.

West Virginia won by President bill Clinton d-Ar for Senator Bob Dole R-KS, with Clintons victory 51.51% to 36 and 76% with a margin of 14.75%. The billionaire businessman reform-Texas Ross Perot finished in third with 11.26% of the vote.

As the 2016 presidential election, it was the last time that West Virginia voted democratic, Republican George W. Bush narrowly win four years later and 20 years later, Hillary Clinton lost the state by more than 40 points without a single district. This is the last election in which West Virginia was conducted by a presidential candidate from the Democratic party while neighboring Virginia had been conducted by the candidate in presidents from Republicans.
