ⓘ Fox Valley Park District

The Fox Valley Park District was founded in 1947 to protect scenic vistas land alongside the Fox River.

It is the second largest Park in Illinois, where more than 230.000, which includes the communities of Aurora, North Aurora, Montgomery and portions of sugar Grove. Located about 40 miles 64 km West of Chicago, Park service areas covers 65 square kilometers 170 km 2 that includes parts of Kane, DuPage, and Kendall counties.

In 2009, the Fox Valley was awarded the National prize of a gold medal For excellence in parks and recreation.

The Park district is governed by seven members of the Board of Trustees. Each member is assigned to either Kane County or DuPage County Board and serves a term of four years.
