ⓘ 1976 United States presidential election in Pennsylvania

The 1976 United States presidential election in Pennsylvania took place on November 2, 1976, and was part of the 1976 United States presidential election. Voters chose 27 representatives, or electors to the Electoral College, who voted for president and vice president.

Pennsylvania voted for the democratic nominee, former Governor Jimmy Carter, over the Republican nominee, President Gerald Ford. Carter won Pennsylvania by a margin of 2.67%.

While President Ford won more districts by running to victory in the Central region of the state and the suburbs of Philadelphia, Governor Carter swept the South-West Pennsylvania, where the city is located in the County of Erie Lackawanna County Scranton, and Philadelphia.

As the presidential election of 2016, this is the time of the last presidential election where the Democratic candidate has won Pennsylvania, without holding any of the suburban counties of Philadelphia.
