The 1988 United States presidential election in Pennsylvania took place on November 8, 1988, and was part of the 1988 United States presidential election. Voters chose 25 representatives, or electors to the Electoral College, who voted for president and vice president.

In Pennsylvania voted for the Republican candidate, Vice President George H. W. Bush over the Democratic candidate, Governor of Massachusetts Michael Dukakis. Bush won the state with a minimum margin of 2.31%. This is the last election where Pennsylvania will be a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination until 2016. Northampton and Luzerne County as bellwethers of the state, also do not vote for Republicans until 2016. It was the first election since 1932, when in Pennsylvania not to vote, as well as neighboring new York, another phenomenon, which will not be repeated until 2016.

As the presidential election of 2016 is the last election in which the suburban districts of Philadelphia, namely, Bucks, Montgomery, and Delaware voted for the presidential candidate of the Republicans. This is also the last time the Lehigh district voted for Republicans at the presidential level.
