ⓘ 2000 United States presidential election in Oregon

The 2000 United States presidential election was held on Tuesday, November, 7, 2000 as part of the concurrent United States presidential election. Oregon voters chose seven electors, or representatives to the Electoral College, who voted for President and Vice-President.

Oregon was a blue state in recent years, as he voted for the Democratic party in all presidential elections since 1988, and Democrats won all the state elections held after 2002. However, in 2000 Gore won by a small margin, partly because of the strong showing of Ralph Nader. For two election cycles, the state will trend Democratic. Almost eighty percent of registered voters came to vote on election day, the highest in the country. This marks the latest time in which margin of victory in Oregon is a fraction of a percent, as the Democrats would have won the state a decent margin since then. This is also the last time in 2016, the Democrats failed to win a majority in Oregon, while the state also will vote more Republican than the nation as a whole.
