Kvinesdal is a municipality in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Lister. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Liknes. Other villages in Kvinesdal include Feda, Fjotland, Knaben, and Storekvina.

Kvinesdal is elongated mountains to coast municipality, reaching saltwater at the head of Fedafjorden, which provides access to the North sea in the South. Further North, the landscape is cut by narrow valleys with scattered small villages. There is also an abandoned mine in magic, a popular ski resort. Because Kvinesdal resembles the geography of the country as a whole, it is often called "little Norway".

In the 963 sq km 372 municipality square miles for the 110th largest of 422 municipalities in Norway. Kvinesdal is the most populous 175th municipality in Norway with a population of 5.988. The municipalitys population density is 6.8 persons per square kilometer 18 / sq mi and its population increased by 7% over the last decade.

Kvinesdal belongs to a Central part of the Norwegian South from which many emigrated to North America, particularly the United States, from 1850 to 1950-ies. Celebrated as an "American village" Norwegian: Amerika-bygd due to the large number of American residents.
