L'Eclisse

LEclisse is a 1962 Italian drama film written and directed by Michelangelo Antonioni and starring Alain Delon and Monica Vitti. Filmed on location in Rome and Verona, the story follows a young woman who pursues an affair with a confident young stockbroker. The film is considered the last part of a trilogy, and is preceded by LAvventura and La Notte. LEclisse won the Special Jury Prize at the 1962 Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for the Palme dOr. Described by Martin Scorsese as the boldest film in the trilogy, it is one of the directors more acclaimed works.

La Jetee

La Jetee is a 1962 French science fiction featurette directed by Chris Marker and associated with the Left Bank artistic movement. Constructed almost entirely from still photos, it tells the story of a post-nuclear war experiment in time travel. It is 28 minutes long and shot in black and white. It won the Prix Jean Vigo for short film. The 1995 science fiction film 12 Monkeys was inspired by and borrows several concepts directly from La Jetee, as does the 2015 12 Monkeys television series developed from the film.

The Lovely Lola

The Lovely Lola is a 1962 historical musical film directed by Alfonso Balcazar and starring Sara Montiel, Antonio Cifariello and Frank Villard. It was made as a co-production between France, Italy and Spain. It is based on the 1848 novel The Lady of the Camellias by Alexandre Dumas.

Eva, released in the United Kingdom as Eve, is a 1962 Italian-French co-production drama film directed by Joseph Losey and starring Jeanne Moreau, Stanley Baker and Virna Lisi. Its screenplay is adapted from James Hadley Chases 1945 novel Eve.

Lolita is a 1962 comedy-drama film directed by Stanley Kubrick, based on the 1955 novel of the same title by Vladimir Nabokov, who also wrote the screenplay. It follows a middle-aged literature lecturer who becomes sexually obsessed with a young adolescent girl. The film stars James Mason as Humbert Humbert, Sue Lyon as Dolores Haze, and Shelley Winters as Charlotte Haze, with Peter Sellers as Clare Quilty. The Manchurian Candidate is a 1962 American neo noir psychological political thriller film about the Cold War and sleeper agents. It was directed and produced by John Frankenheimer. The screenplay was written by George Axelrod and was based on the 1959 Richard Condon novel The Manchurian Candidate. The films leading actors are Frank Sinatra, Laurence Harvey and Janet Leigh, with Angela Lansbury, Henry Silva and James Gregory in supporting roles.
