ATP-dependent RNA helicase DDX50 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the DDX50 gene.

Dead box proteins, characterized by conservative motif ASP-STU-Ala-ASP, dead putative RNA helicase. They are involved in a number of cellular processes, including changes of the secondary structure of RNA, such as translation initiation, nuclear and mitochondrial splicing, and ribosome and spliceosome Assembly. On the basis of their distribution and some members of this dead box protein family, is thought to be involved in embryogenesis, spermatogenesis and cellular growth and division. This gene encodes the enzyme, a dead field, which may be involved in ribosomal RNA synthesis or processing.
