ⓘ TNS1

Tensin-1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the TNS1 gene.

The protein encoded by this gene is localized to focal adhesions, regions of the plasma membrane when a cell attaches to the matrix. This protein crosslinks actin filaments and contains a SRC homology 2, a Sh2 domain, which is often found in molecules involved in signal transduction. This protein is a calpain substrate a second. The second transcript of this gene has been described but its full length nature has not been determined.
