ⓘ RARRES1

Retinoic acid receptor responder protein 1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the RARRES1 gene.

This gene was identified as a retinoic acid receptor RA-responsive gene. It encodes a type 1 membrane protein. The expression of this gene are activated by tazarotene and retinoic acid receptor. The expression of this gene is found leads to negative regulation in prostate cancer, which is caused by the methylation of its promoter and CpG island. Alternative spliced variant transcripts encoding different isoforms have been met.
