Musculin is a protein that in humans is encoded by the MSC gene.

The protein encoded by this gene is a transcriptional repressor capable of binding e-box element either as a homodimer or as a heterodimer with Е2А in vitro. The encoded protein also forms heterodimer with Е2А proteins in vivo. This protein is able to inhibit the ability of E47 transactivation that Е2А protein in mammalian cells. This gene is a subordinate object B-cell receptor path signal transduction.
