F-box/LRR-repeat protein 5 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the FBXL5 gene.

This gene encodes a member of f-box family protein, which is characterized by an approximately 40 amino acid sequence, f-field. F-box proteins are one of four subunits of ubiquitinilated protein complex called the SCF, SKP1-Callen-f-box, which function in phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination. F-box proteins are divided into 3 classes: Fbws containing WD-40 domains, from the FBI, containing leucine-rich repeats, and Fbxs containing different protein-protein interaction modules or no recognizable motifs. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the class of the FBI and, in addition to the f-box, contains several tandem leucine-rich repeats. Alternative splicing of this gene generates 2 transcript.
