ⓘ ELOA

Transcription elongation factor B polypeptide 3 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the TCEB3 gene.

This gene encodes the protein elongin what subunit of the transcription factor complex B. Complex SIEC is composed of elongins a / A2, B and C. it activates elongation of RNA polymerase II by suppressing transient polymerase pauses at many sites in transcription units. Elongin functions as the transcriptionally active component of the complex IEIS, while elongins B and C regulatory subunits. Elongin A2 is specifically expressed in the testis, and capable of forming a stable complex with elongins B and C. the von Hippel–Lindau tumor suppressor protein binds to elongins B and C, and thereby inhibits transcription elongation.
