ⓘ RNF7

RING-box protein 2 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the RNF7 gene.

The protein encoded by this gene is a highly conserved protein finger ring. This is the most important unit of SKP1-Callen / CDC53-F box protein ubiquitin ligase, which are part of the protein degradation machinery important for cell cycle and signal transduction. This protein interacts with them and is a substrate for casein kinase II in the CSNK2A1 / CKII. Phosphorylation of this protein CSNK2A1 has been shown to promote the degradation of IkappaBalpha CHUK / IKK-alpha / IKBKA and p27Kip1CDKN1B. Alternative spliced variants of transcripts encoding various isoforms has not been received.
