Serine/threonine-protein kinase D3 or PKC-nu is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the PRKD3 gene.

Protein kinases with PKC is a family of serine-and threonine-specific protein kinases that can be activated by calcium and second messenger diacylglycerol. The PKC family members phosphorylate a variety of protein targets and are known to be involved in diverse cellular signaling pathways. Family members PKC also serve as major receptors for phorbol esters, a class of tumor promoters. Each member of the PKC family has a specific expression profile and is believed to play a role. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the PKS family. This kinase can be rapidly activated by agonists of G-protein-paired receptors. It is located in the cytoplasm and the nucleus, and its nuclear accumulation is significantly enhanced in response to activation. This kinase can also be activated after B-cell receptor to the antigen-BCR interaction, which requires the intact phospholipase C gamma and the involvement of other members of the family of PKS.
