Plasmodium josephinae is a parasite of the genus Plasmodium subgenus Sauramoeba. It was described in 1967 by Pelaez. As in all Plasmodium species, P. josephinae has both vertebrate and insect hosts. The vertebrate hosts for this parasite are reptiles.
