ⓘ Hidradenitis

Hidradenitis is any disease in which the histologic abnormality is primarily an inflammatory infiltrate around the eccrine glands. This group includes neutrophilic eccrine hidradenitis and recurrent palmoplantar hidradenitis.

It can also be defined in General as an inflammation of the sweat glands.

Primary clinical response is a chronic skin condition, which previously was considered primarily characterizes a purulent inflammation of the apocrine sweat glands. However, recent data confirm that the primary event is a follicular hyperkeratosis and obstruction.
