Stella is a village in southern Newton County, Missouri, United States. The population was 158 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Joplin, Missouri Metropolitan Statistical Area. The village of Stella is located 17 miles southeast of Neosho.

Stotesbury, Missouri

Stotesbury was platted in 1893 when the railroad was extended to that point. The village was named for E. T. Stotesbury, a railroad agent. A post office was established at Stotesbury in 1893, and remained in operation until 1985.
